483,269. Resilient heels for footwear. GRIMWOOD, G. Oct. 7, 1937, No. 27188. Addition to 456,979. [Class 17 (ii)] A device comprising two telescoping parts with vertical walls 3, 5 contains a spring 6, through which passes a screw 4 or other securing means to hold the device in a cavity in the bottom portion of a heel body 2. The upper part of the device 5 is fixed in the heel and the lower part 3 carries a pad 7 of leather or rubber. The lower portions of the telescoping parts 3, 5 are enlarged and closely surround one another at 8, 9 to prevent the ingress of dirt &c.
