Abstract
Non-caking crystalline substances such as ammonium chloride are produced in the form of small crystals by mixing with a saturated solution of the substance at 95 DEG C. a proportion of pectin or extracts from vegetable substances such as beet-root, and cooling to about 40 DEG C. during the course of two to three hours. The crystals are then centrifuged and dried. The process may be applied to sodium chloride, sodium nitrite, sodium nitrate, ammonium nitrate, and ammonium sulphate. The proportion of pectin may be ,02 to ,04 per cent.
