[Class 61 (ii)] A vice comprises a jaw 13 carried by a screw 4 working in a threaded hole in a cross-bar 3 supported by pillars 2 on a base 1 and a second. independently adjustable jaw member 5 guided on the pillars 2 and connected by bars 7 to a crosspiece 6 provided at the centre with a rotatable nut 8 engaging the screw 4 and operated by a hand wheel 11 which may be locked after adjusting the jaw member 5 by a rotatable cam 14.
