Abstract
480,093. Orthopµdic devices for footwear. NEURODE; D. NEUMANN-. Oct. 6, 1937, No. 27070. Convention date, Oct. 6, 1936. [Class 17 (ii)] A sole or insole designed to prevent or correct breakdown of the transverse arch of the foot is provided with a pad b, wedge-shaped in crosssection, which extends across the sole at an angle to the longitudinal axis thereof, its front vertical edge c lying - under the root of the toes. It is stated that, in wear, the toes grip over the edge c, putting the muscles and tendons of the foot in tension. The upper surface of the pad may be curved or undulated. In a modification, the material of the sole is deformed upwardly to form the pad, the pad being supported by a filling member of corresponding shape.
