Abstract

Polyvinyl compounds other than polyvinyl chloride are incorporated in tar at a high temperature. Polyvinyl carbazole, described in Specification 438,281, [Group IV], and polyvinyl acrylic esters are suitable. They may be introduced as such or in solution, or may be prepared in situ in the tar.
