Abstract
477,649. Kinematograph apparatus. KERSHAW, C., and SOHO, Ltd. Nov. 12, 1936, No. 30876. [Class 97 (i)] In a gate comprising a plate 2 hinged to a gate plate 10 and carrying a spring-pressed pivoted roller bracket 9 to engage the feed sprocket, the plate 2 carries a vertically slidable latch 4, the end of which moves the roller bracket 9 out of engagement with the sprocket in the lower unlatched position, and has means for retaining the latch in this position while the gate is open. The retaining means comprises a pivoted pawl 1 carried on the plate 2 and pressed rearwardly by a spring 6. The pawl has steps 7, 8 to engage a stop 3 of the latch so that in the latched position shown the stop 3 engages the step 7. On moving the latch downwards to open the gate the spring 6 presses the pawl rearwardly so that the stop 3 engages the step 8 to maintain the latch in that position. On closing the gate the pawl is pressed forwardly by the plate to release the latch.
