477,513. Casting-machines. MARS, G. June 30, 1937, No. 18207. [Class 83 (i)] Metal-pouring.-In apparatus for treating and casting metal under reduced pressure, the treating or melting vessel which can be tilted or rotated is connected in air-tight manner to the casting apparatus, which is stationary, through a pouring channel. As shown, a vessel 1 provided with heating coils 3 is air-tight and connected by a pouring channel 9 to a casting pan 14 in turn attached to a vacuum hood 18 enclosing the mould 17. Stuffing boxes are provided at 15 and 19. The vessel 1 can be rotated about the axis of the pouring channel 9. In a modification for treating previously liquefied materials, a slag passage passes radially outward from the treating vessel and a pouring channel extends first radially and then in an inclined direction.
