Abstract
477,303. Valve circuits for wireless reception. HAZELTINE CORPORATION. March 19, 1936, No. 8269. Void. Convention date, April 23, 1935. [Class 40 (v)] Two independent systems of automatic volume control are provided in a receiver and fed from points of differing selectivity. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, one A.V.C. rectifier 17, is fed through a broad band amplifier 16 from the input circuit of the narrow band signal amplifier 12, and controls one or more stages of the latter, at a point 19. A second A.V.C. rectifier 22 is fed from the output of the amplifier 12, and controls another stage or stages of the latter at a point 24. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2, a superheterodyne receiver comprises a radio frequency amplifier 30 and selective I.F. amplifier 31, the first A.V.C. rectifier 36 being fed through a broad band amplifier 35 from the input of the amplifier 31 and controlling the amplifier 30. The second A.V.C. rectifier 41 is fed from the output of the amplifier 31 and controls the amplification of the latter. Circuit details of the embodiment of Fig. 2, are described, Fig. 5 (not shown).
