Abstract

476,687. Insulators. STEATITE & PORCELAIN PRODUCTS, Ltd., and LOWN, C. R. June 9, 1936, No. 16164. [Class 36] [Also in Group XXV] An insulator comprises a pin 4 and an insulator body 1 the pin having a lead or other soft metal head 5 which fits in a cavity in the insulator body. The head is formed with a screw-threaded portion and a conical portion for engagement with correspondingly screwthreaded and coned portions 2, 3 of the cavity. The conical portion of the head may be formed with projections or serrations 6 which are deformed on screwing the pin into insulator body to establish good contact between the conical surfaces. The pitch of the threads on the screw-threaded surfaces is preferably from three to four turns per inch and the profile of the thread on the pin-head may differ from that of the thread in the insulator body.
