Abstract
476,553. Inflator &c. holders for cycles. CONDON, P. J., and PRENDERGAST, W. E. July 29, 1937, No. 21022. [Class 136 (i)] A holder for carrying pumps, camera tripods, and other articles on cycles comprises a tubular casing having means for fixing it to the cycle frame, and divided longitudinally into two parts one of which acts as a longitudinally - extending lid, means being provided for securing the lid in the closed position. The holder comprises a fixed part 1 attached by one or more clips 8 to the cycle frame, and a movable part 2, which is hinged at 6 to a lower end cap 4, so as to act as a lid. The opening movement of the part 2 is limited by pivoted links 18, 19. The upper end of the part 2 is formed with an aperture 16 to receive an eyed lug 15 on the upper end cap 3 of the part 1, whereby a padlock 17 may be passed through the eye to lock the two parts of the casing together. A spring clip 22 holds the padlock against rattling. Each clip 8 has inwardlybent ends 9 which are gripped by a rectangular plate with bent-over ends 11, and a bolt is passed through the plate and the ends 9 from the inside of the casing, so that the head of the bolt is normally inaccessible.
