476,372. Folding fabrics. SOC. ITALIANA PIRELLI. June 1, 1937, No. 15258. Convention date, June 10, 1936. Addition to 433,190 and 434,700. [Class 42 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] Filtering fabrics comprising fibrous material loaded with inert granular material and formed into woven, knitted or felted fabric as described in Specifications 433,190 and 434,700, are disposed in juxtaposed layers, the general direction of the fibres of successive layers being crossed. The Figure shows a device in which the fabric is fed through rollers 6, 7 to an oscillating head 9 by which it is delivered to a revolving support which may be the container for the filter mass ; the helically disposed layers so obtained are pressed down. The fabric may be severed at intervals during the delivery, or at the close of delivery by cutting or by stopping the rolls 6 while the rolls 7 proceed.
