476,201. Saws. BALFOUR, R. A., and HALE, F. H. Oct. 20, 1936, No. 28477. [Class 145 (ii)] Saw teeth of constant pitch are reduced in depth and the angle 2a ... 2d including their cutting portion is increased, individually or by groups, progressively towards the end of the blade at which cutting commences, so increasing the strength of the teeth at this end. Fig. 1 shows one form in which the leading-edges 1a ... 1d of the blade are parallel, and Fig. 2, another form in which the angles made by the leading-edges 3a... 3d vary progressively in relation to the verticals passing through their bases. The progressive reduction in depth may commence at any point of the saw, or may extend over its whole length.
