476,135. Appliances for improving the appearance of the face. COAKLEY, A. A. Oct. 21, 1936, No. 28613. [Class 81 (ii)] An appliance for wear during sleep to hold the ears against the head comprises a net or other flexible head piece a having a preferably elastic chin strap b and sides stiffened over the ears by whalebone or other slats. Preferably the slats are held in pockets formed by doubling two or more ribbons c, c\ c<2> upon themselves at points c<5>, the pockets being secured by sewing. The ribbons are sewn together and to the head piece at their rear ends c<6>, and their front ends are formed into loops engaging ribbons c' sewn to the head piece at their ends and between the ribbons to permit lateral adjustment of the slats to the most suitable position over the ears. The head piece is positioned by ribbons e, e<1>, sewn to the points c<6>, the ribbons being tied together after passing one of them through a loop e<2> at the rear centre of the head piece.
