Abstract

473,626. Discharge lamps. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and RUFF, H. R. April 17, 1936, No. 11087. [Class 39 (i)] In an electric discharge lamp wherein the discharge is initiated by means of a conductor on the outside of the envelope, this conductor or band is secured to the envelope by a layer of a celluloid solution, a further coating of the solution being applied over the conductor for insulation purposes. When the conductor is in the form of a metal band, foil or strands of cotton-covered wire, it is pressed into the first layer of celluloid ; when in the form of colloidal graphite it is painted on the layer.
