473,008. Flexible tubes. SZCZERSKI, J. April 4, 1936, No. 10044. Convention date, Nov. 7, 1935. [Class 99 (ii)] A flexible tube for conveying petrol &c., reinforced by inner and outer wire helices f, g, comprises one or more layers b of fabric impregnated with a solution of natural resin in vegetable oil, one or more intermediate layers c of sheet cellulosic material, and an outer covering a<1> of tarpaulin, canvas, &c. impregnated with copper ammonium salt. The tubing may also be provided with an inner lining a of tarpaulin &c., which may be impregnated with copper ammonium salt, and one or more layers d of asbestos or of cotton or flax canvas preferably impregnated with a fireproofing liquid. The proportion of resin to oil in the solution for impregnating the fabric, which is previously calendered, varied from 30-35 per cent, and the amount of solution absorbed by the fabric is from 45-55 per cent of the weight of the latter.
