Abstract
471,753. Making leather. STEVENS, A. H. (Hall Laboratories, Inc.) March 9, 1936, No. 7068. [Class 76] The bating of hides &c. is carried out in baths comprising a bating enzyme together with an alkali metal polyphosphate or pyrophosphate or metaphosphate. The solution is maintained at a pH of about 7À4. Boric acid may also be present. The polyphosphate may be obtained as described in Specification 378,345, [Group III]. Specifications 435,475 and 435,710 also are referred to.
