Abstract

471,036. Collapsable vestibules for railway vehicles. HAUTOT, M. Feb. 16, 1937, No. 4619. [Class 103 (iv)] A homogeneous flexible gangway bellows or vestibule between railway cars is constructed by moulding a sheet of rubber which may be prepared from latex or any other aqueous dispersion or solution of natural or synthetic rubber. The sheet may previously have been rendered porous, in which case it is coated with an impervious layer of rubber solution or latex. Preferably, the bellows is formed with thickened portions at the outer and inner folds a, b, while the lower edges have attached thereto renewable rubber strips f adapted to contact with the gangway.
