Abstract
470,980. Attaching knobs to latch &c. spindles. WILLIAMS, E. Feb. 28, 1936, No..5968. [Class 44] In means for attaching knobs to latch spindles in which a screw A passes axially through the knob B and engages a tapped axial hole in the usual non-circular latch spindle D, the screw has a T-head A<1> serving as a foundation on which a hand-operable head A<2> is moulded or otherwise fixed. The head may have a plain or fluted periphery, a flat inner face bearing against a flat formed on the knob, and may be of any shape or material preferably harmonizing with the shape and material of the knob. An antifriction washer E may be placed between the inner end of the knob and the bottom of the bearing recess in the usual rose-plate C.
