Abstract
To separate iron oxides from ores containing them, the ores, which may be previously crushed, are heated to a red heat, e.g. 800--900 DEG C., in a non-oxidizing atmosphere without the addition of a reducing agent, and the red-hot ore is thrust, without contact with the air, into cold water, the iron oxide being then removed magnetically. The treatment of haemitite, bauxite too rich in iron, chrome-iron ores and nickel-iron ores is referred to. Specification 427,604 is referred to.ALSO:To separate iron oxides from ores containing them, the ores, which may be previously crushed, are heated in a non-oxidizing atmosphere to a red head, e.g. 800-900 DEG C. without the addition of a reducing agent and the red-hot ore is thrust, without contact with the air, into cold water, the iron oxide being then removed magnetically. The treatment of heanitite, bauxite too rich in iron, chrome-iron ores and nickel-iron ores is referred to. Specification 427,604 is referred to.
