Abstract
469,886. Wearing-apparel. WATSON, W. H. Jan. 3, 1936, No. 250. [Class 141] A garment, e.g. a mackintosh, raincoat, or smock, is provided with an opening extending from the neck to a point below one of the armpits to enable so much of the garment as covers one arm and shoulder of the wearer to be quickly withdrawn therefrom: As shown, a smock is provided with a buttoned fly-front A extending from the neck to a point C at the waist, and from the point C to a point D below the wearer's armpit, the front upper right-hand part E of the smock is separable from the skirt F by means of a sliding-clasp fastener G, G<1>, so that the part E may readily be withdrawn from the wearer's shoulder. A brace J is provided to prevent the skirt F from sagging. In a modification, the opening may extend obliquely from the front of the neck to a point below one of the armpits, and be provided with a closure of the sliding-clasp type.
