[Class 20 (i)] An oval-section tubular metal post built up of superposed sections formed from sheet metal as described in Specification 426,074, is stiffened at the positions at which staying devices are secured by means of a tubular distance-piece 5 which is passed through opposed apertures in the wall of the tube, its ends being flanged over at 5a on the outside of the post and welded to the post.
