Abstract

467,647. Spray carburetters. BUNT, E. T., and HILL, F. E. J. Dec. 23, 1935, No. 35608. [Class 7 (iii)] Air is admitted through radial, inclined or tangential perforations E to a mixing chamber D which is of oval form or cylindrical with round ends. To enable the chamber to be attached above or below the engine manifold or alongside it at any angle, the chamber is rotatable about two fuel nozzles G supplied from float chambers B, C. Each nozzle has a closed end and is pierced by perforations g<1> which may be arranged in two rows on opposite sides of the nozzle. An auxiliary jet H, used at starting, is closed by a needle valve as the throttle valve is opened. The chamber may be made in two halves united by brazing and the perforations may be arranged helically or spirally and controlled or cut off by one or more circumferentially movable members. or by a curved plate which is fitted over the chamber.
