Abstract

466,724. Loom weft stop-motions. ASHWORTH, HADWEN, & CO., Ltd., and PILLING, T. Jan. 3, 1936, No. 243. [Class 142 (i)] A reciprocating rod F controlled by centre weft fork mechanism is adjustably connected to a bell-crank lever G, engaging a pin on a vertically slidable shutter E on the lay A. When the weft breaks &c., the shutter remains in a lowered position and at the beat up engages a spring-controlled push bar H, thereby rocking a cranked lever K. This moves the setting on lever B, which may have a cam face b, to the off position as shown in Fig. 8. A spring-controlled lever M pivoted on a lever N engages the lever B, and when this is moved, the lever N moves into position to release a suspension hook d<1> and allow the brake lever to fall and apply the brake. The lever b is connected by a link to a clutch controlling lever, the loom being stopped before the last pick is beaten up. A sliding member carried by a stationary bracket in front of the lay may be connected to the setting on lever or push lever H, so as to be moved thereby to position a block thereon in the path of the lay to stop this before the beat up is completed. The block may be faced with resilient material.
