Abstract
465,901. Control of several D.C. motors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and POLLOCK, A. A. Dec. 24, 1935, No. 35748. Addition to 423,245. [Class 38 (iii)] In a control system according to the parent Specification, for ship propulsion or traction, the exciter Ex for the fields F1, F2, F3, of the generators G1, G2, G3, has its control field arranged in as many parts K1, K2, as there are motors M1, M2. Each part of the control field is connected in series with a respective potentiometer resistance R1, R2, from which the respective motor fields H1, H2 are supplied. The fields HI, H2, may be those of exciters supplying the motor fields. Resistances may be connected across the motor fields when one generator is cut-out. The generators may be connected in series, as shown, or arranged in parallel groups which are series connected. Specification 364,576, [Group XXXV], is referred to.
