Abstract
465,617. Roller way conveyers. LAMB, A. F. Nov. 25, 1935, No. 32558. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] In a tilting catcher and feed table a, rollers e driven in one direction alternate with rollers e<1> driven in the opposite direction so that the rollers e receive the work coming from the rolling mill b or other mechanism and when the table is tilted up the rollers e<1> are pivoted up while the rollers e are lowered so that the rollers e<1> feed the work back over the top. Each pair of rollers e, e<1> is mounted on a pivoted link g tilted by a common connecting rod k moved longitudinally by a bell-crank operating between stops v, w when the whole table is raised or lowered by a crank n driven by a motor p. The rollers e, e<1> may also be alternately raised and lowered by an electromagnetic thruster synchronized by the limit switch r of the table lifting mechanism. The rollers e, e<1> are driven through spur gears and a drive d from a motor c. Curved ended side guides l are provided on the table. The tilting end of the table keeps close to the mill roll in rising &c. along the path s. A feed table may be mounted on each side of the mill &c.
