Abstract
464,385. Double casement windows ; frames. KOZICZ, J. Oct. 7, 1936, No. 27263. Convention date, March 7. Addition to 431,325. [Class 20 (iii)] The open-sided sash described in the parent Specification is formed into a closed sash by bending an edge 8 of the member 2 into a plane perpendicular to the plane of the window and connecting it with the other member 3. The bent-over edge of the member 2 may abut against the inner face of the member 3, or, as shown in the Figure, a portion 6, bent into the plane of the window, may engage a lip 7 of the member 3, which contacts with the window frame or an adjacent sash 5. The member 2 is formed with a doubled-over portion 4 which also engages the window frame or neighbouring sash, while the lip 10 which engages the pane 11 may be extended beyond the thickness of the extreme edge portion 9 of the member 2 to form a space 41 along the edge of the pane, which is filled with putty, or the like.
