[Class 81 (ii)] A body-supporting garment com prises an upper portion 10 of elastic material of a depth sufficient to act as an abdominal support, and a jock strap secured at one end to the upper portion, and removably connected thereto at the other end Reinforcing bands 13 are stitchec to the upper and lower edges of the part 10, and pockets 16 carrying a supporting strip 19, Fig. 6, are stitched at 17 to the upper portior 10. An aperture 18 may be formed in each pocket to permit of insertion and withdrawal of the supporting strip. In Fig. 5, the jock strap comprises two elastic straps 22 stitched to a non-resilient supporting element 25. This is preferably formed of double cloth shaped by tucks 27, inverted to present a smooth surface. Button holes 29 in a reinforcing band 28 engage with buttons 21 stitched to a reinforcing band 20 on the part 10. In a modification, Fig. 7, the jock strap comprises a folded single elastic strap 30 sewn to a supporting element 33 more elastic than the strap 30. The supporting element may be of knitted fabric, preferably silk, provided with threads 34 such as those known under the Registered Trade Mark " Lastex."
