Abstract

Fuel for Diesel or other internal-combustion engines consists of 5--95 lb. of furfurol with 95--5 lb. of liquid fuel of B.P. above 150 DEG C. Benzine, benzene, methyl or ethyl alcohol, or other low-boiling liquid fuel may be added. For example, 5--25 lb. of furfurol is added to 95--75 lb. bunker oil, standard Diesel oil, or light Atlantic Diesel oil. The furfurol is stated to act as an anti-detonant.
