Abstract

461,194. Washing and wringing machines. CHRISTIE, P. J., and TURNER, I. Aug. 9,1935, No. 22517. [Class 138 (ii)] In a combined washing-machine and wringer, the wringer is secured at each end to one portion 29 of a hinge member which is pivoted at 31 to the other member 30. The members 30 are secured by screws 33 in selected pairs of sockets provided around the tub 10 within the casing 4. The hinge members 29 are channel shape in section to fit over the members 30 and are provided with apertures 36 to register with apertures 35 in the members 30 and to receive locking screws. One of the apertures 36 is enlarged so as to pass over the shank of the locking screw so that the latter need not be completely withdrawn from the member 30. The tub is pressed into engagement with a seating 12 by bars 18 engaging beneath the bottom of the tub and raised by nuts 17 on rods 16 which are secured in lugs 15 at the top of the casing and are provided at their lower ends with nuts 19 engaging bars 20 which bear against the lower faces of cross members 9 secured to the legs of the casing.
