[Class 123 (ii)] [See also Group XXII] A boiler-drum comprises a section 8, and a relatively thicker section 7 which receives the tubes 11, the edges of the sections being respectively increased and decreased in thickness, so that they are of equal thickness at the welds 9. The edges 12, 13, Fig. 2, may be stepped, or the sections 7, 8, Fig. 4, may taper towards the weld 9. The mean circumferences of the sections are coincident, as claimed in Specification 459,990.
