Abstract

459,798. Vehicle-window regulators; preventing rattle. SLEIGH, H. L., CHESTON, A. S., and STUART F. J., Widney Works, Bagot Street, Birmingham. July 15 1935, No. 20121. [Class 20 (iii)] A sliding vehicle window shutter or panel is connected tc vertically - disposed operating screws or slides by coupling members including or associatec with resilient devices, such as blade springs 22, to prevent rattling and to press the sash against its guides. The regulator may consist of left- and righthand threaded rods 9 and nuts 19 engaging a flanged extension 20 of the top rail of the sash and the actuation means may consist of hand-operated worm gear and a flexible shaft 14. The con. nection between the sash and regulator may comprise a segmental nut directly joined to a blade spring on the sash. The sash is readily detachable from the regulator and the lower por. tion of the guide channel is removable to allow the window to be taken out of the guide.
