459,324. Revolving - cylinder pumps. NALBANDIANTZ, G., 106, Boulevard de Magenta, Paris. Nov. 13, 1935, Nos. 31456 and 31457. Convention dates, Nov. 13, 1934 and Dec. 6, 1934. [Class 102 (i)] [See also Group XXIX] The pump and motor of hydraulic variable speed gearing each comprise four cylinders, opposite pairs 11, 13, Fig. 4, and 12, 14 rotating about axes 7, 10, and pistons 1 .. 4 radiating from a common point. The pistons are connected together at the centre, or are carried by an outer member 48, Fig. 8, in order to leave a central space free for distributing valves. The member 48 may be flexible, or the pistons flexibly connected thereto. The speed ratio is varied by manually or automatically varying the distance between the axes 7, 10, e.g. by racks 36, 37, Fig. 7. All the cylinders of a pump or motor may be in the same plane and central S-shaped distributing valves employed, or pairs of cylinders 57, 58, Fig. 11, may be offset and rotate on a sleeve valve 60. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also other forms. In the form shown in Fig. 15 (Cancelled) a member 140 is eccentrically adjusted to vary the speed ratio. The functions of the cylinders and pistons may be interchanged as shown in Fig. 17 (Cancelled), where 146, 149 are cylinders flexibly connected at 155, and 150, 151 are conduits. Distributing valves comprising fixed and movable sleeves may be employed. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
