Abstract
457,853. Television. RADIOAKT.- GES. D. S. LOEWE, 10, Wiesenweg, Steglitz, Berlin. June 4, 1935, No. 16059. Convention date, June 6, 1934. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] Synchronizing signals are separated from the picture signals by an amplitude filter comprising a gas-filled discharge tube 5, the bias on which is adjusted manually and automatically by the mean value of the synchronizing signals. The automatic adjustment of the bias is obtained by a high resistance 13 bridged by a condenser 12 which gives to the circuit a time constant greater than the period of several complete scannings. The tube 5 may have a heated cathode. The line and frame synchronizing signals are separated by resonant transformers or chokes 9, 10 tuned to the frequency of the signals and with their coils damped by resistances 14, 15. The transformers are so arranged that positive impulses are fed to the associated relaxation oscillators. The negative bias across the circuit 12, 13 is also used to control the grid bias of an amplifying-valve prior to the separation of the synchronizing-signals, Figs. 3 and 5 (not shown), or as an additional bias for the discharge tubes of the relaxation oscillators.
