[Classes 81 (i) and 81 (ii)] A double phial package for catgut and other surgical sewing thread consists of an inner tube 3 having an opening 4 at the top for withdrawal of the thread 6 and having an inset 7 for supporting the thread and spacing it from the closed base 5 of the tube 3 so as to prevent damage during sealing, and an outer sealed tube 1 having indentations 2 to facilitate breakage of the tube 1 and removal of the inner container for use. The inset 7 may be an open tube or may be closed at one or both ends, and may have perforated walls. Specification 412,530 is referred to.
