456,852. Weighing-apparatus fitted to mixing-machines. SIMON, Ltd., H., and BRIAN, J. C., Bird Hall Lane, Cheadle Heath, Cheshire. July 20, 1935, No. 20695. [Class 143] [See also Group II] In a plant for blending grain &c. in which the ingredients are fed from weighing machines having automatically controlled weigh bucket doors to a mixing device, the discharge from the latter is automatically controlled so that when the weigh bucket doors are open the discharge is cut off, and vice versa. As shown, the weigh buckets a, b, c deliver into a worm e feeding a mixer f, the discharge from which is controlled by a sliding, cam-actuated door j. The rotating arm n actuating the cam k also engages a lever p operating a mercury switch q controlling locking means for the doors a, b, c. The latter are operated as described in Specification 399,255. The cam may be designed to give a quick movement to the door j, and the weigh buckets may deliver directly into the mixer.
