[Class 97 (i)] In goggles which are fitted with an adjustable bridge comprising co-operating portions arranged to screw one into the other lengthwise of the bridge to adjust the length of the latter, one of the bridge portions is a helical spring. As shown in Fig. 1 the eye-rims 11, 12 carry J-shaped staples 13, whose ends 15 engage the convolutions of a helical spring 10 by the rotation of which the length of the bridge can be varied. In a modification shown in Fig. 3, the staples are replaced by threaded pins 18 screwing into a spring 17. The pins 18 may be replaced by helical springs which screw into a third spring. Fig. 7 shows a further modification in which only two springs 32, 33, are provided, one screwing into the other. The bridge shown in Fig. 8 comprises a bar 39 carrying nose-engaging portions 41 and springs 37, 38 into which can be screwed springs 24 fitted to the eye-rim. The portions 41 are forked at 42 and after adjustment of the length of the bridge they may be bent to engage their respective lens rims and hold them against rotation.
