454,907. Cleaning firearms. BAXENDALE, G. V., Framfield Place, Uckfield, Sussex. March 12, 1936, No. 7476. [Class 119] [See also Group XXVIII] A device for cleaning firearms comprises a cleaning wad F composed of one or more perforated felt or like discs preformed to be a tight fit in the barrel and a preformed bobbin G covered with soft polishing material, the wad and bobbin being separately and detachably mounted and the wad preceding the bobbin through the barrel. The wad is mounted on the plain end E of a spindle A so that it slips off when the device is drawn back in the opposite direction and may be replaced by a fresh wad. The bobbin is secured on the spindle between a shoulder B and a nut H, and may be used several times before replacement. The bobbin may be rotatable. The spindle has a screwed spigot D for attachment to a threaded socket at the end of a ram rod.
