Motor Car & Railway Carriage & Wagon Builders ; 200, Kartouzska, Smichov, Prague) Nov. 20, 1935, No. 32194. [Classes 79 (ii) and 79 (iii)] An electric motor 1 having a vertical shaft, drives two pairs of vehicle wheels 11 through bevel or other gearing 2, 3, differential gearing 4 on a horizontal transverse shaft, bevel or other gearing 5, 6 and two longitudinal shafts 7. The invention is suitable for trolly-buses and permits of low seating arrangements. The shafts 7 drive the wheels, which are mounted on swinging half-axles, through bevel gearing and axle shafts 10. The driving gear may be mounted in a housing attached to the vehicle body or to a central frame member, and this housing and the four wheels may be detached from the rest of the vehicle as a unit, the motor 1 having been previously removed if necessary.
