453,862. Controlling induction motors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, and MAGGS, A. H., 14, Oval Road, Rugby. March 19, 1935, No. 8599. [Class 35] A single - phase capacitor motor has a three - phase primary winding connected in star for starting and in delta for running, the capacitance in both cases being connected between one supply lead and the winding terminal to which the third lead of a three-phase supply would normally be connected. In the form shown, the connections are shown for running conditions, one condenser only being effective. For starting, the windings are star-connected and the two condensers are in parallel. The condensers may be in series for running.
