453,625. Drying fabrics &c. BRIDGE & CO., Ltd., D., Castleton Ironworks, and BRADSHAW, J. G., Corbeil, Manchester Road, both in Castleton, Lancashire. Aug. 24, 1935, No. 23748. [Class 34 (i)] [See also Group VIII] The concave bed of a laundry or paper calendering or drying machine is formed by a steel sheet a to the back of which are welded intermediate and end semicircular ribs b carrying supports for a number of semi-cylindrical steel sections d which are welded thereto and are spaced from the sheet a whereby a number of semi-cylindrical cavities c are formed. The longitudinal edges of the cavities are closed by perforated steam pipes f welded therein and each cavity is provided with a drain passage.
