Abstract
453,604. Sun - blinds ; shelters &c. DAVIES, H. C., 25, Flanders Mansions, Bedford Park, London. March 19, 1935, No. 8530. [Class 52 (v)] A sun blind or canopy comprising cloth, glass, sheet metal or other material secured in a rigid frame is mounted in a housing in a building in such a way that it can move in and out of the housing in a purely horizontal direction. The blind or canopy may run on rollers mounted in the housing its side edges being channel shaped, if desired, to form bearing surfaces for the rollers. Fig. 6 shows the blind B provided at its sides with channels b<5> in which are arranged roller bearings b2 secured to the roof of the housing A by brackets b<7>. In an alternative arrangement, Fig. 1, the blind B is mounted on rollers a<2> suspended from the roof of the housing as shown. Specification 323,176, [Class 20 (iv)], is referred to.
