Abstract

Solid water-soluble aluminium acetate which is stable to storage is obtained by evaporating to dryness solutions containing less than 4 but preferably at least 2,9 mols of acetic acid per mol. Al2O3 Freshly prepared solutions are preferably employed and evaporation may be effected in large shallow dishes at 70--90 DEG C., on a cylinder drier, or in a vacuum drier at 50--90 DEG C. A statement of prior art refers to the evaporation of \ba1/3\be basic aluminium acetate solutions at temperatures below 38 DEG C., and to the atomization drying of aluminium acetate solutions.
