446,586. Cabinets. DOWNHAM, S. J., and DOWNHAM, H., Auckland Street, Vauxhall, London. Nov. 8, 1934, No. 32117. [Class 52 (i)] A cabinet having a vertically slidable door has, in an upper compartment hidden by the door, a counterbalancing device to facilitate the operation of the door. In the preferred form the counterbalancing means consist of chains 10 passing over pulleys 9, bearing weights 11 sliding on guide rods 12 between buffers 15, 23. The front of the door may carry a mirror or be usable as a splashback. According to the Provisional Specification the door may be actuated mechanically.
