446,389. Stapling. LASCH & CO., C. L., 10, Lutherstrasse, Leipsic, Germany. July 22, 1935, No. 20841. Convention date, July 21, 1934. [Class 89 (iii)] A stapling - apparatus for driving pre-formed wire staples is provided with means for supporting the staple legs against inward distortion during driving consisting of several rollers 10 arranged movably in slots 9 arranged one above the other in the front plate 2 of the apparatus. The rollers are held by springs 12 so that they project into the driver passage and are straddled by the staple legs, being moved outwardly in turn by the pressure of the staple cross-bar as the staple is driven. In a modification, the slots 9 are upwardly inclined and the springs 12 are dispensed with.
