Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Feb. 5, 1935]. [Class 35] A magnetic shunt for regulating dynamos, &c. consists of a ring or disc of magnetic material concentric with the shaft and arranged to be moved towards or away from the field magnet by a screw device. Fig. 1 shows such a ring 1 engaging a screw-thread on the outside of the bearing casing 2. Such a ring may also engage a thread on the inside of the casing, or, as shown in Fig. 4, may engage a slot 13 on the inside of the casing and be operated by a separate screw 14. The ring may be formed in various ways to engage a screw-thread which may be formed on a sleeve surrounding the shaft instead of in the bearing casing.
