Abstract
444,512. Strainers. DRYSDALE & CO., Ltd., and DRYSDALE, J. W. W., Ferry Road, Yoker, Glasgow. April 1, 1935, No. 10053. [Class 46] A straining device, suitable for use at the suction end of a fire hose for drawing liquid from a shallow supply source, comprises an outer shell, having a perforated roof and side walls 3 and a preferably imperforate base 1, and an inner shell with a perforated base 4 and an imperforate roof and side walls 5. The space within the inner shell is connected to the hose by a coupling piece 6. The walls and bottom of the inner shell may be corrugated and the base 4 may be formed with arches 7 open at their ends.
