Abstract
442,649. Thermionic cathodes. EGYESULT IZZOLAMPA ES VILLAMOSSAGI RESZVENYTARSASAG, Ujpest, near Budapest. June 27, 1935, No. 18437. Convention date, June 28, 1934. [Class 39 (i)] In an indirectly heated cathode the cathode body is formed of a tube 1 supported by pins 2a, 3a integral with plugs 2, 3 or caps which fit in or on the ends of the tube ; slots 1a, 1b at the lower end of the tube allow the heater wires to pass out. The heater may be of hair-pin or spiral shape, and is insulated by a tube 4 or by material burned on the heater wire. One of the pins is used as the cathode lead. The pins are received in mica end spacers and at least one of the pins is of varying cross -see - tion to jam in the hole in the spacer. The cathode may be used with multi-grid valves. Discs of zirconium oxide may be fitted on the ends of the plugs where they enter the tube to further insulate them from the cathode body.
