Abstract
442,246. Knitting-machines. BLACKBURN & SONS, Ltd., G., Kirkewhite Street, Nottingham, and START, F., 136, Gordon Road, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire. Oct. 25, 1934, No. 30580. [Class 74 (ii)] Prior to knitting the heel tabs of a stocking, on a Cotton's machine, the central part B of the lower sinker sley in each division of the machine is moved back, taking with it a corresponding length of presser bar out of range of the instep loops. The part B is locked in extreme positions by a rod G carrying inclines acting on a projection H or a plate L respectively. The joints between the fixed and movable parts of the sley are bridged by projections F passing into clearance recesses.
