Abstract
441,655. Moulding tyres. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., 32, Osnaburgh Street, Euston Road, London, and WILLSHAW, H., BROADBENT, F. G., and HARDMAN, J. H., c/o Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. Dec. 8, 1934, No. 35334. [Class 87 (ii)] In moulding-apparatus in which the moulding pressure is applied by an inflatable member or air-bag 7, means is provided for connecting the air-bag with the air or other fluid under pressure when the :fluid is admitted to a supply pipe 12. As shown, when air is admitted to the pipe 12, it causes a plunger 10 to move a rubber nozzle 17 against the valve 8 of the air-bag and, at the same time to establish a passage for the air through a passage 13 normally closed by a spindle 20 fixed to a cylinder 9. On "turning-off" the supply to the pipe 12, a spring 15 retracts the plunger, and the parts assume the position shown in Fig. 3.
