Abstract

437,331. Resistance coatings. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. March 7, 1935, No. 7180. Convention date, March 7, 1934. [Class 37] Resistance material, the ohmic value of which decreases with an increase in voltage, is applied in a thin layer between large surface electrodes which are spirally wound. In the form shown, the electrodes a and b are wound into a spiral separated by the layers c<1>, c<2> and the layers terminate in inserts of filling compound f<1>-f<4>. The unit may be traversed by cooling liquid and connections from the external circuit may be made to intermediate points on the electrodes. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also an arrangement utilizing flat electrodes a<1>-a<7> and b<1>-b<7>, Fig. 1 (Cancelled). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
